Innovation – The Key To Surviving Post Coronavirus

innovation

Innovation is a buzz word that has been popular for years. We hear it more during recessions, depressions, economic downturns and any harsh economic climates.

The disastrous after-effects of the panicked overreaction to the coronavirus scare will bring about the biggest economic catastrophe since the Great Depression 100 years ago – and the first truly global one.

I wrote about my concerns with the unprecedented oppression of individual rights in an earlier post. However, I prefer to keep the heavy political stuff off this blog. I will expand on those concerns elsewhere.

Whatever your thoughts on the virus and the rights or wrongs of your government’s shutdown policy, your life is almost certainly going to be seriously affected in the changed world post COVID19. You are going to have to learn how to overcome adversity.

I am one of the more fortunate. I work from home, live on a farm, have no children at home and rarely go shopping. Yes, I find trying to get office supplies or talking to my bank extremely frustrating. I have had a few speeches cancelled, a minor surgery postponed. A few other conveniences but I can still walk down our country road as often as I like so my life has not changed much.

My Innovation

But I still have to earn an income. I had to look to innovation for ideas to survive in the future. My partner in our tiny homes internet business, Kathleen and I have started a podcast and YouTube channel The Peter Wrights Yakking Podcast. We talk about business, marketing, life and survival. We have already interviewed four interesting guests about innovation, business survival, remote working, world schooling and the nomadic lifestyle.

Here’s our interview with Vesna Leonard where she tells us about her experience travelling the world. She was working from wherever she could find a place for her laptop and schooling her children at the same time. A true nomadic lifestyle.

We have a list of interesting guests lined up for the weeks ahead. Authors, marketing advisors, business owners, a traveller to remote parts of the Amazon and more.

All our shows are on our podcast channel here.

You can listen to episode 7 of our podcast on the audio player below.

Whether you are a business owner, a professional, working or retired, your life will be different in the months and years ahead.

What will be your innovation to live your life in the new world?
