I have just been reading about an older mid level manager, recently laid off, who is scavenging through garbage cans and dumpsters to find re-cyclable items to sell just to get money for food.
It is disgusting that this is happening in the richest country in the world.
This is why it is so important for every one to have a plan B and to start generating a second income BEFORE disaster strikes. It’s even more important for us Baby Boomers because unlike younger generations, we don’t have the luxury of time and we are less likely to find jobs.
Don’t think it can’t happen to you. Circumstances can change in the blink of an eye for any of us, read my story to see what I have experienced. More recently, an unexpected heart attack forced me to abandon a lucrative source of income. Thank goodness I did have a plan B in place.
