Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the United States of America.
Here in Canada, we celebrated Thanksgiving last month, it is still a new experience for a newcomer like me.
At this time of year in the Southern Hemisphere, we had just finished planting our crops, harvest was still months away. We did not have a Thanksgiving tradition although we did give thanks for a successful harvest in church services at harvest time.
Despite the many and well publicised problems in North America and Europe, we are still more fortunate than millions of people in other countries. We do have a lot to be thankful for.
I am thankful that I have a safe country to live in, good health and a roof over my head. I am even more thankful for my new teeth, the final result a year long dental project.
Wishing you and your families a time of peace and safety over the holiday weekend.
p.s. If you haven’t already, you could give thanks for your good health by making a small donation to the Movember Movement, raising funds and awareness for the treatment of prostate cancer and mental health.
