“Put off for one day, and ten days will pass” – Korean Proverb
Well isn’t that proverb true? I put off posting to this blog for a couple of days and two weeks have flown by.
I have just finished reading an very thought provoking and inspiring book, “The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch, a computer sciences professor who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Despite the effects of the cancer and the treatment, he gave the “last lecture” at Carnegie Mellon university, his lecture covered his terminal illness, his determination to live his remaining life to the full and his desire to leave a legacy to his children.
It is an amazing story and his quote “The brick walls are not there to keep us out, the brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something” sums up his zest for life and reflects his enthusiasm and success in his career.
What message did I get from his story? It made me think very hard about what I would do differently if I learned tomorrow that I only had a few months left to live my life. It made me grateful that I do not yet have to come to terms with my life ending, but most of all it gave me the determination to live my life to the full and not waste precious time on things that don’t matter.

Wishing you success in all your endeavours.
