Although Baby Boomers are reported to be one of the fastest growing groups of Facebook users, many still see social media as a waste of time and something for young people. If you share this opinion and are in any type of business you might want to think again.
Some interesting facts in the latest “The Facebook Post”, the Facebook advertisers newsletter.
Vitrue, a leading social media software publisher, recently analysed 32 000 posts. According to Vitrue’ s white paper “The Anatomy of a Post” there is a significant difference in effectiveness of a post published in the morning compared to an afternoon post. The morning post is 65% more effective.
Other highlights in the article:
- Posts with an image were twice as engaging as text-only posts and significantly more so than those with video.
- Posts on Fridays, followed by Tuesdays generated more engagement than weekend posts.
- Social Media advertising expenditure is forecast to grow from 6% to 18% of advertising budgets within 5 years.
