Are you investing in Personal Development?
I have just completed a 12 month personal development course with MLMU. The course included weekly sessions with a personal coach, group sessions, interactive sessions with a highly successful network marketing trainer, workshops and assignments.
The saying “You don’t know what you don’t know” now makes much more sense. Before starting on this course, I knew that I needed to improve in certain areas of my life but I was having difficulty identifying exactly what I needed to do to move both my business and my life forward.
Working with a good coach is like travelling through a series of locked doors, that the coach helps us unlock, as each door opens, it reveals
answers and another door.
Some doors open easily, others take longer because uncovering the right key is more difficult.
As each door is unlocked and the answers discovered, reasons for our actions or lack of action, become clearly identified.
The course helped me identify where I needed to focus my activities, avoid procrastination, use my time more effectively and understand how some of my goals were not aligned with my values.
The section of the course that identified and explained the differences between the various temperament types was especially useful. It helped me understand why people have different priorities and why some can tolerate a lack of organisation but others are uncomfortable with going with the flow.
A major benefit for me was understanding the importance of “not sweating the small stuff” – not wasting time or attention on inconsequential things that in the overall scheme of things do not matter, or have little or no real impact on our lives or businesses.
Altogether an excellent course, it has made a huge difference to my life, my business and my ability to be more effective.
Find out more about it here.
Wishing you success in all your endeavours.

My parents gave me my first horse when I was 7 years old, that started a life long passion and I have been fortunate to pursue that passion for most of my life.
Last week after riding my “difficult” Paint – he has a bit of an attitude – for an hour, I decided to try riding him without a bridle to see how he would react.
As I got on him, he fooled around and backed into the electric fence around the pasture. 7000 volts through his rear end certainly woke him up, he took off like a rodeo bronc, with me trying to stop him with just a lead rope on his halter.
I did stop him after a while, but it was a wild ride.
Maybe I was stupid to take the risk, yes it could have been dangerous with potentially painful consequences, but I survived and enjoyed the experience.
How often in our businesses do we let a perceived risk stop us from taking action?
How many opportunities have been lost because we were afraid to pick up the phone, call on someone, try a new marketing tactic?
If you want to lessen the risk of using Pay Per Click advertising to move your business forward, Perry Marshall will be releasing his updated 2010 version of his Definitive Guide to Google Adwords on Tuesday 15 September.
Plus, everyone that registers will be entered into a drawing to
win a $7,000+ consulting seat at one of Perry’s upcoming 4 Man
Intensives.

Yesterday I learned a lesson from a snake – yes I really did.
Late morning, I was driving along a paved country road, the temperature was pleasantly warm, around 24 C (74F). There was this garter snake about 24 ” long near the shoulder, I slowed down to avoid running it over.
I often see snakes on the road on hot days in summer, so I thought that this one was just enjoying the warmth from the road. As I got closer, I noticed a large insect hovering about 6″ above the snake.
Suddenly, the snake lunged for the insect, lifting most of it’s body off the road. It was not successful, the insect got away and the snake slithered off into the bush.
It got me thinking, as far as I know, frogs and small rodents are the main diet of garter snakes, but this one saw an opportunity and went for it.
The snake did not waste time thinking about it, it just took action.
So do we take action when presented with an unusual opportunity, or do we find reasons for not acting?
Here is an unusual opportunity. One of the successful Internet Marketers I follow is Tellman Knudsen, he produces some excellent programs and I have learned a lot from him.
He has a short term offer right now, it’s worth checking out here.
